Don Quixote Movie Updates

I just read a couple of articles about Don Quixote's path to the big screen. Not only is Gilliam's film a bust again due to financing issues, Warner Bros. is coming out with their own blockbuster version that is rumored to have a much higher budget along with a watered-down plot.

The Matrix=Awesome

This movie was definitely one I considered choosing for the script breakdown project. Brian chose it so I'm sure he'll have a beastly time working with it. I found a script that is describe as "A man has to travel from the year 2036 to the year 1975 to retrieve a computer that can prevent a nuclear war." This sounds like the writer been reading a little too much of John Titor.

The Media Theory & Criticism class spent the week covering genre studies. More specifically, the assignment was to study the horror genre. They selected and voted on a "top ten" list using an open and wide variety of criteria. This is what they came up with in ranking order, #1 being best.

Don't Kill the Dog!!!

This is the best movie I have seen where they kill the dog. I saw it at an Academy screening where it was being reviewed for possible nominations. You would think that the audience there would be a bit more tolerant, or sophisticated, or, whatever... Not so. A good portion of them walked out when the pooch got dusted. Too bad, they missed a great film. Watch it if you get the chance.
